We started developing lightweight 12-inch racing tires a year ago and have already controlled the test sample weight below 160 grams. But with both durability and puncture resistance, we increased the weight of the mass-produced pure-head folding tire to 190 grams.

Since the mesh cover is the main body of the tire, and the main source of rolling resistance is the energy loss caused by the compression deformation of the mesh cover when contacting the road surface, the goodness of the mesh cover is the key to the performance of the tire. The most commonly used indicator is the TPI, which is the density of the mesh. The higher the TPI, the greater the number of fibers in a mile. High-density woven meshes, which represent finer fibers, require less rubber to fill the gap; relatively low-density woven meshes have thicker fibers and require more rubber.

A high TPI number means lower rolling resistance. Most of the rolling resistance of tires is caused by rubber deformation. Because the high TPI number has less rubber content, it can convert the rider's energy more into forward power.
